The Relationship of Access to Social Media Information with Adolescents' Knowledge on the Danger of Free Sex at Public High School 10 Palangkaraya

Background: Accessing social media information is a search for information connected to the internet network. Easy access to information has positive and negative impacts, the negative impact is the occurrence of free sex among teenagers. Free sex is a behavior that is carried out outside of marriage motivated by sexual eduction directed at different or identical types of people. Objective: Analyze the relationship between access to social media information and knowledge the dangers of free sex at SMA Negeri 10 Palangkaraya. Method: Research used a cross-sectional approach. The population and sample were 68 students with cluster sampling techniques. The measuring instrument used a questionnaire and was analyzed using the Fisher Exact test. Results: Access social media information in the easy category was 38 students (55.88%) with less knowledge many as 8 students (21.05%), Access social media information in the difficult category was 26 people (23.53%) with adolescent knowledge in the good category many as 5 people (31.25%) and p value resulting from the Fisher Exact test was 0.211. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study that there is no relationship between access social media information and adolescent knowledge on the dangers of free sex at SMA Negeri 10 Palangkaraya, it is hoped that adolescents will be wiser in using social media as access information to increase knowledge about the dangers of free sex and for schools it is hoped that they can cooperate with the nearest Health Center so that they continue to receive information about the dangers of free sex to increase adolescent knowledge.
