Abstract

Several factors contribute to the decline in Prolanis visits by diabetes mellitus patients, including family support, perceptions, attitudes, distance from service facilities, facilities, infrastructure, and staff support. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors influencing type II diabetes mellitus patients' participation in Prolanis in the Talang Randai Health Center in South Bengkulu Regency in 2025. This quantitative study used a cross-sectional design. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 134 respondents with type II diabetes mellitus in the Area of Talang Randai Health Center in South Bengkulu Regency using a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate logistic regression analysis. The results of univariate analysis showed that most respondents (59%) lacked family support, most respondents (61.2%) had negative perceptions, most respondents (61.2%) had unfavorable attitudes, almost all respondents (85.8%) stated that facilities were complete, almost all respondents (88.1%) stated that infrastructure was complete, most respondents (61.2%) were far from health facilities, most respondents (63.4%) lacked support from health workers, most respondents (61.9%) were passive in participating in Prolanis activities. There was an influence of family support factors, perceptions, attitudes, facilities, infrastructure, distance from health facilities and support from health workers on Prolanis participation. The highest regression coefficient was for the attitude factor (5.184), thus placing attitude as the most influential factor in the participation of type II diabetes mellitus patients in Prolanis in the Talang Randai Health Center in South Bengkulu Regency in 2025. Talang Randai Health Center should be more active in providing health promotion, especially for Prolanis. BPJS Kesehatan should adopt a behavior change approach, such as providing educational materials on emotional benefits and quality of life, and through testimonials from Prolanis participants about their diabetes.
