Abstract

Literature has been a vital part of education for centuries, contributing to the development of critical thinking, cultural understanding, and communication abilities. Traditional education mainly focused on classical works, memorization, and teacher-led instruction, often emphasizing moral values and historical significance. In contrast, modern education has adopted a more dynamic approach, integrating diverse perspectives, digital tools, and interactive methods. This evolution enables students to analyze and interpret literary works more deeply and creatively. This paper examines the distinctions between traditional and contemporary literature teaching methods, discussing their advantages and challenges. Additionally, it explores how technological progress and changing educational philosophies have reshaped the role of literature in today’s classrooms. Gaining insights into these transformations can help enhance literary education and make it more engaging for modern learners.
